CYS provides seismic analysis and retrofitting for a wide variety of facility types including historical facilities. Numerous traditional seismic renovation project designs have been developed to minimize cost, functional disruption during and after construction, aesthetic impacts and harm to the historic fabric of historic facilities. CYS has assisted the State of California, Real Estate Services Division (RESD) and the Division of the State Architect (DSA) in developing and implementing their State Building Seismic Program since 1994. Our principals have also performed first-hand investigations of earthquake damage, which provides us with a unique understanding of potential building weaknesses – - even some that may not be addressed in current codes.
