Dealing with a constrained site on top of a hill, CYS designed a reinforced concrete retaining wall to support a new emergency generator and associated equipment on top of an existing slope. The 20-FT-tall exposed face retains the 100,000 LB generator and provides space for future bulk gas storage. The retaining wall design was reviewed and approved by the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development. CYS also provided the structural design of the shotcrete facing for a temporary soils nail anchored wall required to support existing medical utilities and equipment upslope of the retaining wall excavation.
