CYS provided structural evaluation and seismic strengthening of an existing 115,000 SF warehouse building in advance of the build-out of the warehouse into research and laboratory spaces. The seismic strengthening consisted of reducing the spans of the existing roof diaphragm through the introduction of new steel drag members and braced frames. Out-of-plane bracing of existing unreinforced masonry was accomplished with steel strong-backs spanning between the floor and roof.
